Lhyfe was founded in 2017 in Nantes, France, and is a hydrogen pure player. Lhyfe is a producer of green hydrogen. Lhyfe owns and operates hydrogen production plants with the ambition to become the leading green hydrogen producer in Europe. Currently Lhyfe has 93 hydrogen production plants in development, equals a total electrolyser capacity of 4,8 GW. Lhyfe envisages expansion of its business model to Canada, US, Japan and South Korea.
Near the Atlantic Ocean in France, Lhyfe inaugurated in August 2021 the first green hydrogen production plant in France, directly connected to wind turbines and using seawater as feedwater to the electrolyser. That plant is the first of its kind in Europe. The plant, using an alkaline electrolyser, delivers green hydrogen to several public transportation operators but also to industry in the region.
This session discusses further the status and outlook of alkaline electrolyser technology.
